Mário Augusto Tombolato

Mário Augusto Tombolato, Ph.D., is a Visiting Postdoctoral Researcher at University College London, working on his research project: "Minority stress and mental health in same-sex parented families and their children", which is part of his ongoing main research at Institute of Psychology, University of Sao Paulo (USP), Brazil. It is a longitudinal qualitative study, based in the theoretical frameworks of Psychoanalysis of Couple and Family, and Minority Stress. It aims to analyze the family dynamics of same-sex/gender couples and their children, including their experiences resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic. The production and dissemination of research in this area may provide subsidies to expand and compose knowledge in the social, political and scientific fields for the legitimation and acceptance of the plurality of family forms existing nowadays. 

Dr Tombolato's research is funded by FAPESP (The Sao Paulo Research Foundation).
