Summary

ZAP-70 is an extensively studied protein as evidenced in literature. We have found its sequence to be conserved across many species. Bioinformatics has been a powerful tool which has enabled us to study the structure and function of ZAP-70 therefore gaining a greater understanding of its importance in the immune response. It is an essential protein in the T-cell receptor signalling pathway as lack of the latter leads to severe immunodeficiency.
