After completing an MSci degree in Natural Sciences at Durham University, Kish obtained a PhD at the University of Birmingham, investigating mass spectrometry approaches towards the characterisation of protein Post-Translational Modifications at the Leney Lab for Biomolecular Mass Spectrometry. After graduating in 2023, Kish commenced a Post-Doctoral Fellowship at the Thalassinos Lab, University College London. Kish is interested in applying mass spectrometry methodologies to probe protein structure and function by developing and harnessing such techniques as crosslinking-MS and proteomics. Kish is also interested in leveraging these workflows to investigate the role of protein Post-Translational Modifications in the context of cellular behaviour, as cells transition from healthy to a diseased state.
Outside the lab, Kish suffers from chronic Manchester United supporter-related stress and so enjoys playing 5-a-side, cooking and music to combat this.
