Douwejan is an MSci Biochemistry student joining the Thalassinos lab for the 2024/2025 year, after having done a summer project there investigating the U2OS cell proteome with native MS. His masters project builds upon a common lab interest of Huntington’s disease, with an aim of characterising the complex formed between FAN1 and MutLα (MLH1/PMS2) using native IM-MS.
Outside of the lab, Douwejan is an avid powerlifter (favourite sweet is fruit pastilles), having competed at the national level, and enjoys playing RPG games.
