Ah, forgot about that! The results need, erm, results. That'll give today something to do... Time to sort out all these graphs...

...and now I find pdflatex has a problem with eps files! All very well altering latex to allow noneps files to be used, but sacrificing eps files completely is a bit below the belt!

ok, sorted, figures converted to .pdf and inserted correctly. Sigh.

Modelling required:
Validation runs (three cases - highly intensive due to powerful aurora)
Uranus runs (two cases - very low intensity aurora)
Photons Saturn (well, calculation, won't go as far as to say "modelling") - done!
Photons Uranus (as above) - done!
Chemistry module - coding to update for certain Steve based things, then runs using model atmospheres and ion production
Sensitivities - you can't miss these runs, they've been going for a year now...

Which leaves four graphs to do with ease, two to do with relative ease, some fairly swift modelling for Uranus providing further graphs and tables, long runs for Jupiter and sensitivities, which need to be done and chemistry, which should be "fairly" easy, but we shall see...

There is something really wrong with spending ages getting idl just so, then pressing go and have everything churn together in a couple of seconds... I want error messages or fireworks to deflect from my precious data, which has taken months to produce, compile together, colour codes chosen etc etc etc.

Second one was even worse. I just copied and pasted the idl code...

All four easy graphs now done. Yes, I know, I'm a coward. The rest will be done when they're done...

Right, photon stuff. I will use the tried and tested method rather than my own one, which will be revealed in Chapter six, but first the tried and tested method. Must first explain it, so I'll expand a little in the modelling section...

...expanded. Now for calculations, assuming I can find the fluxes again... its been a while... got 'em

These calculations may be easy, but they are VERY numerous...

Solar heating eventually calculated for Subsolar Saturn.

Ion production has now followed for subsolar Saturn.

Same two have been calculated for Undersun Uranus. Ok, enough attempts at alliteration...

All numbers ready for graphs and tables. They will be done tomorrow.
