Couple of analyses

Very worrying, the Jovian primary run set off yesterday has finished - two out of three days early... Kronian paper run also finished, which is less worrying asides from it may have finished at the same time as the Jovian run, which could mean a machine went and took them both down... I shall see...

The reason for the faster run of the Jovians has become clear, fortunately. The mistake that caused the skewing of the last set of numbers meant far more than the required numbers of electrons were going through. Now this has been sorted, the numbers have reduced, so less to do and hence faster program. Results not too different than before, but obvious second hump and a bit of a distinction between two humps in the H -> H+ curve, ie a bit of the missing structure just turned up and said hi. Not all of it though... Of course this is confirmed in the pressure plot. Heating a little better, but not perfect.

Have set off a new Jovian run with the other auroral numbers to see if there's a noticeable difference. Next job will be to turn on Grodent's excessive thermalisation system...

Of course, there's a more important run to analyse...

Saturn. Well, just run results.pro on it, which is the old results system. The profile is horrible... This was just out of interest - the profile, when created with smooth.pro, is actually fine, I just hadn't seen what results.pro shows up. The effect of secondaries is obvious and quite interesting. The heating system seems to have worked fine, though I agree with Grodent that the rovibrational heating has in effect blown up and needs to be controlled with a higher thermalisation system... It remains a free parameter. Don't quite think the energy levels chosen worked for the edeg stuff...

Ok, that's the two page thing 'done' can get on with expanding it to five pages - which will not be difficult - the difficulty will be keeping to five...

Created figure one in visio using wts.

...ok section one of the thing, sorry, section two, one was the introduction, of the larger thing done. Just another few like that and a few references and all is well with the world again...

...more later...
