Saurabh Kumar — Postdoctoral Researcher
Saurabh is working on a soil modelling project funded by the VistaMilk II Research Ireland Centre, co-supervised by Lennon O'Naraigh, in the School of Maths and Stats at UCD. The project aims to improve the Irish grass growth forecast by implementing the Richards Equation across Irish farms to predict the soil moisture as a function of time and depth.
Gabriel Cairns — PhD Student
Gabriel is an EPSRC-funded DPhil student at the Mathematical Institute at the University of Oxford, co-supervised by Ian Hewitt. Gabriel uses mathematical modelling and numerical simulations to study how sedimentary basins affect the subglacial hydrology of ice streams in Antarctica.
Daire O'Donovan — PhD Student
Daire is a PhD student in the School of Maths and Stats at UCD. Daire uses variational calculus and numerical methods to optimise wave-body interactions for bodies floating on the surface of the water.
