What is COLLOQUI?
Good Question. COLLOQUI stands for Col
leges of Lo
nformation and is an afternoon of talks and seminars between Quantum Information groups doing research in the Greater London area. The three largest groups in this area are:
However, if you are in the environs then please come along. Each afternoon will occur once a term of the academic year at one of the above institutions.
This afternoon of seminars is a platform for each of the groups to discuss their latest research and maybe collaborate. Each afternoon consists of one 1 hour talk in seminar-style with several half-hour conference-style talks afterwards.
When is the next meeting?
It is at 2pm on Wednesday 23rd March 2011
at Imperial College London. Click here
for details. The meeting after that will be in Summer hopefully at Royal Holloway. For details of the previous meeting click here
Is there a registration fee?
No, it is completely free to attend. On the other hand, we do ask that you e-mail either Matty Hoban
or Peter Lewis
to register your attendance so that we know how many numbers to expect and to make security arrangements, if necessary. Also, since it is free, we cannot reimburse you for your travel costs. One of the reasons for the meeting being only London is to minimise cost of organisation.
Can I give a talk?
The only talk that is invited is the 1 hour seminar-style talk. Every meeting has 5 empty slots
that is filled up with talks on a first come, first served basis at the organisers' discretion (it has to be relevant to the field of quantum information in some form).
If you have any other questions, would like to give a talk or be involved then please contact Matty Hoban
or Peter Lewis
