PROGRESSOR consistently detects progression earlier than Statpac 2. The PROGRESSOR software is a useful tool for the early detection of visual field deterioration in normal-tension glaucoma.

Combined analysis of serial visual fields is helpful in attempting to identify ocular hypertensives at risk of conversion to glaucoma. PROGRESSOR detects change earlier than Statpac 2 and would be more helpful in glaucoma management.

PROGRESSOR for Windows is a convenient software tool for analyzing glaucomatous field decay. Gaussian filtering reduces long-term fluctuation without delaying the detection of early loss in normal-tension glaucoma.

PROGRESSOR enables an assessment of visual function without the need for binocular field testing.

Less frequent visual fields detect fewer progressing locations and detect them later.

There is strong correlation between patient responses to certain questions about visual disability and the severity of binocular field loss. If a patient reports noticing visual deterioration, they are likely to show progressive visual field loss.
