An ECG trace consists of waves, recorder from the electrical stimulations via the 12 leads. A standard wave consits of
PQRST elements, as shown:

In the case of a ischaemia during exercise or after a myocardial infarction, an ECG trace may be characterised by an
ST-segment elevation in the V4 lead, for example:
