- Sighters and Practice
- Portsmouth and Worcester: Only one end of sighters is allowed before scoring.
- WA 18m and Bray 1: Unlimited practice is allowed (45 minutes in offical practice) before scoring
- Scoring and tie-breakers
- All rounds uses 10 zone-scoring with the exception of the Worcester Round, see below.
- Portsmouth, Bray 1, Worcester: Hits and golds are to be recorded, where golds are the highest numerical score zone only. The position of each archer is sorted by score, hits and then golds.
- WA 18m: 10s and 9s are to be recorded. The position of each archer is sorted by score, 10s and then 9s.
- Timing
- Portsmouth: Either timing systems may be used.
- WA 18m and Bray 1: The timing system used is Method 2 (timed).
- Worcester: The timing system used is Method 1 (untimed).
- Bouncer
- Portsmouth and Worcester: If an arrow bounces out of the target, an archer may shoot a replacement arrow with the judge's permission.
- WA 18m and Bray 1: If an arrow bounces out of the target, the archer must stop shooting and inform a judge to score the unmarked hole on the target face.
Exception - Worcester
The Rules of Target Archery - Indoor shall apply except for the following:
- Rotating details will not apply to this round.
- In the event of an archer shooting more than five arrows at an end the archer shall be penalised by losing the value of his highest scoring arrow(s) in the target.
- The maximum number of archers on a target boss shall be four.
- Four minutes shall be the maximum time for an archer to shoot an end, the time to start from when the archer steps on to the shooting line.
- The scoring points for hits on the target face are: 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, reading from the centre white circle.
- Target faces shall be arranged thus:
- Two archers of a group shall shoot five arrows; the second group shall then shoot their five arrows.
- The first group of two archers shall shoot at the higher targets; the second group at the lower targets.
- When all archers have shot 30 arrows those who have been shooting at the lower targets shall change to the higher targets and those who have been shooting at the higher targets shall shoot at the lower targets, thus those who have been shooting on targets 1 and 2 shall shoot the remaining 30 arrows on targets 3 and 4 retaining their same shooting positions.
Indoor Awards
Portsmouth Badges
Portsmouth badges are handed out to archers, at the end of the indoor season, who scored and submitted a Portsmouth score. The scores required to obtain a Portsmouth badge are:
- 300, 325, 350, 375
- 400, 425, 450, 475
- 500, 525, 550, 575
- 580, 585, 590, 595
- 600
Worcester Badges
Once a month in the indoor season, we shoot a postal Worcester match. At the end of the indoor season, Worcester badges are handed out to archers who shoot above the following scores:
- 50, 75, 100, 125
- 150, 175, 200, 225
- 250, 275, 290, 295
- 300
