Making the Most of Maths

Ever since I started my mathematics journey, I have always looked at solving abstract problems. These problems have originated from some of the most powerful minds ever to have existed. What about the simple problem, such as how you order a taxi (Uber), or how you pay for your groceries (Apple Pay), or how you check your spelling and grammar (Grammarly)?

I will be exploring the ways in which I have learned to use my Mathematics knowledge and apply it to simple problems. Often as mathematicians, we are taught to simplify the most complicated things, which sometimes blinds us into oversimplifying, overcomplicating, or creating false analogies - forcing a mapping, e.g. “There must be an isomorphism between people wanting their food delivered to their door and people wanting to order a taxi in advance.”

“Can we conjecture this? How do we go about proving it?” I will be exploring how I have used my mathematics to build a cybersecurity product from pen and paper and how integral maths is to building products in all industries.
