Contemporary
Hollywood films are the most deplorable cultural phenomenon of our time. The
way they trivialise life makes me sad and angry. I don't watch them and no
one should. Fortunately, other people in other places are making wonderful
films all the time. Click here for a list of some of
them.
I cycle
most days from Muswell Hill to UCL or the British Library. Cycling
is an excellent way of getting around. It is civilised and it is good for your soul. More people should cycle in London.
I
sail other people's boats, mainly with friends from Seahorse
Sailing Club. A man has to get through his middle years somehow. Click
here to see my cruising log.
Great literature is not a specialty interest. If you don't appreciate it, you should improve yourself until you do.

I
live in a pleasant Edwardian suburb in North London. I love London. There
are revealing parallels between love of cities and love of women, but this
is not the place to go into them. For a page of London highlights for visitors

I
play saxophone, but not well. The saxophone has a beautiful but little known
classical repertoire. Click here for a list of recordings I own.
