LaTeX Stuff

I recently spent a lot of time struggling to get a LaTeX document into the form that Econometrica requires.

In particular it took me ages to figure out how to get:

So here, document template, is a Latex document template that does all these things and some others too. In order to get the headings correct (and for this template to run) you also need to load the following style file style file in the same place as the .tex file.  These two things are pretty primitive and crude but they work and may save some else from re-inventing the wheel!

Try Beamer it's a marvelous way of doing math presentations.

What you need to do is as follows:

(0) Need to make sure you have a version of Acrobat that allows  you to create pdf files.

(1) Download Winedt into the c:programfiles.

(2) Download Beamer,pgf & xcolor.

(3) These need to be saved into folders in the c:texmf/tex/latex/ folder.

(4) These need to be renamed so you now have folders named

c:texmf/tex/latex/beamer

c:texmf/tex/latex/pgf

c:texmf/tex/latex/xcolor

(the downloaded files have other letters and numbers on the end.

(5) Run MikTeX Options “refresh now” and “update now”

You are good to go.
