We are always keen to hear from individuals who are interested in joining the group. Those interested should have excellent skills in at least one of the following: field skills and data collection; mathematical modelling; statistical modelling; computer programming. But most of all they should have an open and inquisitive mind.
PhD opportunities
The main source of funding within the UK is through the Research Councils and in particular the NERC London DTP. How to apply.
Some example PhD and Masters projects
How do ecosystem stressors combine? This would build on recent work in the group and would likely involve a combination of data analysis and/or theoretical modelling.

Lichen ecology in urban settings: is there a pollution legacy effect? This would build on recent work in the group and would involve field work and data analysis.
Can habitat complexity predict local cichlid community taxonomic, functional and phylogenetic diversity? This project would be an ideal masters-level project analysing existing data.
Other funding routes
Other funding possibilities exist such as the UCL Graduate School Scholarship
