Research interests
My PhD research aims to: 1) Investigate the link between settlement type and use of natural resources in refugee-hosting areas. 2) Assess the use of Earth Observation data and GIS to understand the processes driving land-cover change in refugee-hosting areas. Contrasting case studies will be taken from Tanzania and Uganda. Both countries have a history of hosting refugees and are relatively safe and accessible. They feature similar environments but have contrasting refugee-hosting policies. I am supervised by Ray
Harris, Richard
Taylor, and Khalid
Koser.
